Starting in Entebbe, there is a lot to be ticked off your Classic UGANDA Safari. In 12 days, you will experience the water cruise on the world’s longest river, trek the southern white rhinos, chimps of Budongo & Kibale forest with chances of viewing other species of primates, a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, spot the tree climbing of Ishasha sum up the highlights of your safari with gorillas of Bwindi and golden monkeys of Mgahinga.

Day to Day Overview

Day 1 - Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda
On arrival, clear with immigration and you will be received by our guest representative who will drive you to your hotel in the leafy surburb of Entebbe. Overnight at Hotel No.5
Day 3 - Water Safari & Chimpanzee trekking at Kaniyo Pabidi
Another early morning rise, take a boat trip to the Nile delta in search of the elusive shoebill stock. Uganda listed among the world’s best bird-watching destinations and even non-birder’s will be captivated by the check list of 450 birds found at Murchison Falls. A brunch of your choice will be prepared and kept in the vehicle storage and hot breakfast will be served on the boat later.

Proceed with your water safari to the bottom of the falls. Board off and join the resident ranger guide and gently walk upstream giving you plenty of time to take photos at the edge of the Murchison Falls. Proceed with your drive to Kaniyo Pabidi in Budongo forest for chimpanzee trekking. Kaniyo Pabidi is the second largest of the four blocks that are part of Budongo Forest reserve home to over 800+ chimps and you will encounter one of 6 habituated groups in their natural habitat. Day 5 - Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
Kibale National Park is the most perfect place for chimpanzee habituation experience in the world. This full day activity starts at 06.30am until when they nest. The forest is also home to 13 other species of primates earning itself the name ‘The Primate Capital of the World. It has attracted film experts, researchers including the great Sir David Attenborough. Meals and overnight at the lodge
Day 7: Lion Research Safari & Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel
A new initiate to support the declining numbers of cats involves a wide range of experiential tourism excursions to assure close wildlife encounters. Accompanied by a resident researcher, you will drive to Kasenyi plains for a lion search safari and a visit to the leopard village. You will get an insight on how local people have coexisted with wildlife.

Drive to Mweya peninsular for hot lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge and boat cruise on the Kazinga channel through a network of circuits that are usually popular for hosting waterbucks, elephant, buffalo the most popular is the channel track. The 2hour boat cruise on the Kazinga is every visitor’s highlight. This 36km channel connects Lake George and Edward has occasionally given surprises to visitors. With 612+ bird species some of the seen by the banks of the channel, you will sight Herds of elephants, buffalo and it is home to the highest concentration of hippos in the world. Day 9: Intimate Gorilla Trekking
Go on an intimate gorilla trekking with a member of the gorilla research team. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park doubles as home to half of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas and one of world’s most popular parks. Accompanied by local expert guides and veterinary doctor, you will walk through slippery and steep hills through the forest to reach the gorillas. Once you find the gorillas, the researcher will take you through a bleeding biology of the gorillas and collect samples. More impressive the researcher will take you through a presentation about a day in the life of a gorilla doctor. Descend from the forest back to your lodge for a hot meal and spend the afternoon at leisure. You may choose to take guided walks around the community that include visiting a hospital and school or the batwa people a marginalized group that leaves by the boundary of the forest. Day 11: Golden Monkey Trekking
While they have been overshadowed by the gorillas and chimpanzees, golden monkeys of Mgahinga National Park a rare species of monkeys that are only found in this part of the world. They will leave in large groups, easy to spot by the colours and quite playful. Once you reach them, you will spend an hour with them or get involved in a habituation that takes more than one hour.

Day 2 - Murchison Falls National Park
Take early breakfast, check out and sett of by road to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziiwa Rhino Sanctuary located in Nakasongola district has become increasingly popular for guided nature walks with the only white rhinos in Uganda. The resident guides will take you through a presentation about extreme poaching that killed the last rhino in Uganda in 1982

Later you will take hot lunch at Kabalega dinners and proceed to your host lodge. Time permitting, you will join your guides for a sunset game drive around the northern bank of the Nile river. Meals and overnight at the Nile Safari Lodge

Day 4 - Transfer by air/road to Kibale National Park
The most rewarding time for guided game drives through the scenic Buligi area to the delta point are the early mornings to midday. With luck you will sight lion, leopard but the most popular animals to sight are Jackson hartebeest, giraffe, buffalo, elephant and oribi.

Your guide will later drop you off at Pakuba airstrip in time to board your scenic bush flight to Kibale National Park. On arrival at Kasese airstrip, you will be received by your naturalist driver guide and transfer by road to your lodge in time for hot lunch. Day 6: Transfer by road to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, transfer by road to Queen Elizabeth National Park.  It is the most popular park in Uganda and is inhabited by 96 species of mammals including lion, leopard, hyena, elephant, hippo as well as chimpanzee and the Uganda Kob and 612+ bird checklist. Few national parks in Africa can boast such biodiversity rating. As drive to your lodge, you will stop by equator line for a photo and the pavilion for coffee a break or stretch your legs. Later proceed your drive to the lodge with a game drive via the Kasenyi plains.

Day 8: Drive Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Most of the game drives are done in the north east or south sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check out at your host property and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Kasenyi plains and Ishasha sector famous for its tree climbing lions.

The drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi is approximately 4hour surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the park includes savannah, bushland and rush forests.

Day 10: Hike through the forest
If you would like to experience the behind the scenes of the forest, a hike through the forest from Buhoma to Nkuringo south of Bwindi is worth rewarding. The walk includes stops at waterfall trails and offers excellent views of the Virunga volcanoes. On a clear day, you will get clear views of the cloud rings on top of Mount Mgahinga and Muhabura.

The surprise of a life time is encountering gorillas or even forest elephants. Arrive at the lodge and a resident masseuse will be able to perform exceptional massage before dinner time

Day 12: Onward to Kigali, Rwanda
Today marks the end of your safari with us. Your naturalist driver guide will drive you to Kigali, Rwanda via the town of Musanze north of Rwanda. Depending on your flight schedule, you will take a self-guided tour of Dian Fossey’s museum and proceed to Kigali to mingle with locals at a local restaurant and sum your day with take a walk around the local markets to purchase souvenirs for your loved ones.
