Ol Pejeta is the most famous of the private conservancies in the Laikipia region in the foothills of Mount Kenya. It is famous for being the home of the last northern white rhinos. The conservancy offers a range of different safari activities such as going out with the rangers and learning to track animals, perhaps going out jogging or cycling or horse riding among the wildlife. Visitors can also get involved in conservation work or meeting the anti-poaching dogs and learning about the important work that they do.

Access: How to get to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

The drive to Ol Pejeta from Nairobi takes about 3-4 hours. The road from Nairobi to Nanyuki is tarmacked, and the last 13 kilometres to Ol Pejeta is dirt. From Nakuru/ Naivasha; it is best to take the road via Nyahururu and Nyeri to enter Ol Pejeta through Nanyuki. 4×4 vehicles are essential in the rainy season. There are daily scheduled flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Nanyuki airstrip, which is a 45-minute drive from Ol Pejeta.
