Perched along the shores of Diani Beach on Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast, Alfajiri Villas is an intimate collection of three private villas designed for travellers seeking space, seclusion and highly personalised service. Rather than a conventional beach resort, Alfajiri feels like a private coastal home, where every stay is tailored around the people staying there.

The story of Alfajiri began with its owners, Fabrizio and Marica, whose connection to Kenya grew from a lifelong appreciation of its landscapes, wildlife, people and culture. What began as a love for Diani Beach evolved into a deeply personal hospitality experience. Marica designed and curated each villa, while also developing the property’s acclaimed culinary offering. Today, the couple continue to own and manage Alfajiri alongside a dedicated team committed to making each stay personal and memorable.

There are three completely individual villas: Cliff Villa, Garden Villa and Beach Villa. Each has its own personality, architecture and setting, allowing guests to choose an experience that suits their style and group.

Cliff Villa occupies an elevated position on a coral cliff, with sweeping views across the Indian Ocean. With four bedrooms and space for up to nine guests, it is particularly well suited to families or couples looking for an exceptionally private escape. Its distinctive Turret Suite sits at the highest point of the villa, while an infinity pool appears to merge with the ocean beyond.

Garden Villa offers a more secluded tropical setting, surrounded by lush greenery and a generous private garden that leads towards the beach. With four en-suite bedrooms and space for up to ten guests, it works beautifully for larger families or groups of friends. A large verandah, infinity pool and jacuzzi create inviting spaces for long, unhurried days by the coast.

Beach Villa sits closest to the water, with direct access to Diani Beach and expansive ocean views. Designed for up to six guests, it combines open-air living with a private infinity pool and a relaxed beachfront atmosphere. Its three bedrooms make it particularly appealing to families, friends or couples who want the space and privacy of an entire villa.

Whichever villa you choose, the experience is deliberately personal. Each comes with dedicated butler service, a private swimming pool and exclusive use, while meals can be enjoyed in the villa or outdoors. The emphasis is on flexibility rather than a fixed resort schedule, allowing guests to shape their days around what they enjoy most.

Cuisine is central to the Alfajiri experience, with meals prepared around the preferences of each guest. Days can be as leisurely as you wish, with time spent beside the pool, on the beach or enjoying a treatment, or filled with experiences along the Kenyan coast. Snorkelling, scuba diving, boat trips and water sports are among the possibilities, while cultural visits offer an opportunity to connect with the local community. Guests can also explore the surrounding coastline or venture further inland to Shimba Hills National Reserve.
