Mezena Lodge

Mezena Lodge is a truly unique retreat located on the eastern side of Lalibela, one of Ethiopia’s most sacred cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set across more than 16 acres of lush, rolling landscape, the lodge blends traditional Ethiopian design with modern comfort, offering a peaceful escape just a short drive from the famous rock-hewn churches. Opened in 2017, Mezena takes its name from a local word meaning “flat and fertile land,” reflecting the calm and natural beauty of its surroundings.

The lodge features 30 spacious stone bungalows with thatched roofs, each thoughtfully designed to reflect local architectural styles while providing modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms. Every bungalow includes a private balcony overlooking the Lalibela hills, making it an ideal base for guests seeking privacy, comfort, and scenic views while exploring the region.
