Sosian Lodge

Sosian Lodge is located on a 24,000-acre private wildlife ranch in Kenya’s Laikipia highlands, where conservation, tourism, and traditional cattle ranching work together to protect the land and its wildlife. Originally built in the 1940s by Italian craftsmen, the historic ranch house has been carefully restored to provide an intimate and welcoming safari experience for up to 14 guests, with additional accommodation available on request.

The lodge features four charming cottages set within beautifully maintained gardens, all overlooking the dramatic landscapes of Mount Kenya and the Laikipia Plateau. Guests can relax by the swimming pool, enjoy a game of tennis, explore the organic vegetable garden, or visit the stables, home to around 30 safari horses. At an altitude of 5,500 feet, the lodge enjoys a pleasant year-round climate and is located in a malaria-free area.

The ranch is home to an impressive variety of wildlife thanks to its diverse habitats. Guests have the chance to see elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, hippos, hyenas, kudu, oryx, impalas, and warthogs, as well as smaller animals such as bat-eared foxes, servals, and genets. The area is also a fantastic destination for birdwatching.

Sosian offers a wide range of activities to suit every interest. Guests can enjoy game drives, guided bush walks, horseback safaris, camel treks, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, and cultural visits, making every stay both adventurous and memorable.
