Surrounded by water, Xugana Island Lodge offers a true Okavango experience of year-round water safaris around the permanent channels of the Delta. Luxurious, raised thatch lagoon-facing chalets with sliding glass doors and private viewing teak decks are situated on the shaded fringe of the island, with a swimming pool in the inner, mature garden. Mokoro trips (traditional dugout canoes), boat safaris through lagoons, and wilderness walks give guests the chance to see the Delta denizens such as sitatunga and lechwe antelope, crocodile and hippo, as well as other big game that frequent the islands and riverine fringes. Bird-watching opportunities are outstanding, and the bream and tiger fishing can be excellent at certain times of the year.
