A Taste of Southern Africa
A 17-day journey from Table Mountain to the Bazaruto Archipelago
Southern Africa rewards those who want it all: city, vineyards, wilderness and sea. This 17-day journey moves through five distinct landscapes, from the "Mother City" of Cape Town to the white-sand shores of the Bazaruto Archipelago. It begins at Mount Nelson, the iconic pink hotel beneath Table Mountain, with a Table Mountain cable car ride, the colours of Bo-Kaap and Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. The Cape Peninsula follows, with Chapman's Peak Drive, the Cape of Good Hope and the penguins of Boulders Beach, before a day of tastings in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The journey continues to La Residence, a romantic estate set among the vineyards of the Franschhoek Valley. From there it heads to Loapi in the Kalahari's Tswalu Reserve, where private safari homes, meerkat encounters and rare sightings of cheetah, aardvark and pangolin await in South Africa's largest privately protected conservation area. Next is Singita Ebony Lodge on the banks of the Sand River in the Sabi Sand, famed for its big game and frequent leopard sightings. The final chapter is andBeyond Benguerra Island in Mozambique, where days drift between snorkelling, diving, dhow cruises and barefoot luxury. With light aircraft flights, transfers and all-inclusive meals at the lodges, this itinerary balances culture, wine, wildlife and island relaxation.
