Bernard founded Nziza Hospitality on a simple but powerful belief: that Africa’s wild places have the power to change lives. Passionate about delivering transformative experiences to visitors from around the world, he has built Nziza around a commitment to authenticity, sustainability, and a more empowered Africa.

His roots in this work run deep. The fourth generation of a Rwandan family born in Uganda, Bernard grew up inside the boundaries of Queen Elizabeth National Park, surrounded daily by wildlife and park rangers. His uncle, Professor Kasenene, a lead zoologist with Uganda National Parks, took a young Bernard under his wing, nurturing his love for wildlife and bringing him along on work travels across the Mweya Peninsula. It was an upbringing that left a permanent mark.

Bernard entered the safari industry at 16, starting with guest laundry and camp inventory at Jacana Safari Lodge and working his way up with quiet determination. Driven by ambition, he moved to the city, saving carefully to fund a degree in Tourism and Hospitality while staying close to his passion through casual work at Jacana and Mweya Safari Lodges. After graduating, he sharpened his skills in branded marketing, administration, and management at one of the region’s leading branding houses, before co-founding his first safari business and travelling extensively across East and southern Africa.

That journey, in his own words, began with conviction rather than capital: “I come from a very humble African background, with no capital but a huge amount of conviction. I always wanted to create a revolution in the safari industry, and I knew that someday it would happen.”

Founding Nziza Hospitality was the natural culmination of that conviction. Today, Bernard leads a team born and bred in Africa, delivering bespoke safari experiences built on genuine on-the-ground expertise. Wildlife, philanthropy, and environmental preservation sit at the heart of everything Nziza does, reflected in Bernard’s personal advocacy for causes including The Zambezi Leopard Song Project, The Gorilla Research Clinic managed by Conservation Through Public Health, Chances for Children, and Paper Craft Africa.

With over a decade of experience in luxury travel and tourism, Ronah specializes in curating bespoke journeys and exclusive safari experiences across East Africa. Over the years, she has had the privilege of working with travellers from around the world, which made her realize that true luxury is not just about five-star comfort but rather it lies in the unforgettable moments that leave a lasting impression.

Therefore, what she enjoys most is transforming each client’s vision into extraordinary journeys filled with meaningful experiences, personalized service and lifelong memories. From the
initial planning stages to the final day of travel, she is always dedicated to ensuring every detail is seamless and thoughtfully tailored to each traveller’s expectations.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce majoring in Finance, Esther brings a strong foundation in accounting to her role at Nziza Hospitality, alongside an equally strong passion for the natural world.

Growing up in Kabale, She developed a deep appreciation for nature early on, surrounded by some of Uganda’s most breathtaking landscapes. That connection to the environment has stayed with her and shapes the way she sees her work, not just as numbers on a page, but as a contribution to something larger.

A Computer Engineering graduate with a passion for exploring the world, Sugra brings a rare blend of technical fluency and commercial acumen to the luxury travel and safari sector. Her background spans communications, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnerships, giving her a sharp eye for building connections that matter.

As Nziza Hospitality’s Chief Knowledge Officer and Trainee Guide, Isma is the quiet engine behind seamless day-to-day operations. From coordinating with the operations team to liaising with partner properties, he ensures every detail is in place before a guest ever arrives.

Thorough, dependable, and always willing to go the extra mile, Isma approaches every task with the same level of care and commitment.

A fascination with wildlife runs through everything Pamella does. Elephants, in particular, have always captivated her, creatures of extraordinary memory, led with wisdom by a matriarch. That sense of wonder was the spark that drew her toward tourism, and the years she spent in the hotel industry gave her the skills and confidence to turn that passion into a career.

Born and raised among the stunning landscapes of Western Uganda, she grew up with nature as her backyard. As a child, she watched safari vehicles roll past in quiet fascination, carrying adventurers toward the wildlife she woke up to every morning, announced by birdsong and framed by breathtaking scenery. It was an early and lasting revelation: that people travel from across the world to experience something she had always known as home.
