Uganda Meander

Uganda, with its relatively temperate equatorial climate, is great for year-round travel. Temperatures are highest in the dry season from end December to February, with daytime averages of about 25°C to 39°C, dropping to about 16°C at night, although temperatures do get quite a bit cooler at high altitudes.

Murchison Falls National Park offers excellent and uncrowded game viewing in 4×4 vehicles as well during spectacular river cruises on the Victoria Nile, the location for the filming of The African Queen. These cruises culminate at the base of the Murchison Falls, where the massive Nile River thunders down an eight-metre wide gap.

Tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest are both profoundly moving experiences, made even more special by the calibre of the local guides, who have in-depth knowledge of the primates and their environment.

Afterwards, spend a couple of days relaxing poolside at Wildwaters Lodge, surrounded by the thundering Hypoxia Rapids that flow around the island or sign up to experience the unforgettable high of a white-water rafting trip on the Nile.
