While crowds and proximity to other lodges make this an increasingly difficult endeavor, Chem Chem Lodge has achieved to create exactly that: A secluded place of calm and tranquility that is enhanced by the sheer beauty of its surrounding. Set between Lake Manyara, a vast salt pan, and gorgeous palm-fringed plains, the lodge offers a total of 8 airy tented suites, one of which can be used as a family suite, equipped with indoor and outdoor showers and luxuriously comfortable, handcrafted furniture.

Chem Chem’s bespoke safari experiences are infused with Maasai culture, its ancient wisdom, and the meaning of conservation and community. While a calm and intimate atmosphere is at the heart of the owners’ vision, the couple is passionate about offering experiences that foster their conservation and cultural outreach programs. The efforts of their Chem Chem Association non-profit organization have resulted in a re-establishment of the ancient Kwakuchinja migrational corridor that had not seen elephant herds for almost 40 years. The couple continues to drive positive engagement with local communities and enables guests to be a part of that mission.
