Ivory Lodge

Ivory Lodge, located in the forestry area on the outskirts of Hwange National Park, offers family-friendly safari experiences and is famous for its exhilarating up-close sightings of the Presidential Elephant Herd.

The Lodge comprises a Main Thatched dining and lounge area overlooking a guest swimming pool and overlooking a watering hole  which is frequented by elephants, predators and many plains game species.

The rooms themselves are elegantly built on stilted wooden platforms offering elevated views of the open floodplain and watering hole in front of the camp.

Standard Treehouse Room
Ivory Lodge has seven thatched and elevated tree house style standard rooms, all commanding great views of a private and active waterhole. The rooms have been designed with ultimate comfort in mind in a Robinson Crusoe style, offering open-aired views of the floodlit waterhole. Ivory is a family-friendly bush lodge offering a rustic and authentic tree-house style African experience. Each treehouse consists of en-suite bathrooms with showers, mosquito nets, electric blankets, fans, tea and coffee station, hairdryers and a wardrobe.

Presidential Suites
Ivory Lodge also offers two elevated tented Presidential Suites affording fantastic views over the waterhole. The suites are elegant and contemporary, designed with ultimate comfort in mind in a Robinson Crusoe style, offering open-air views of the floodlit waterhole. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower, private balcony and an outside seating area, mosquito nets, electric blankets, fans, tea and coffee station, hairdryers and a wardrobe.

Activities
Game Drives
Morning, afternoon and full day game drives can be arranged on the concession and into the National Park. An abundance of game species can be spotted within the concession and National Park including elephants, Lion, Giraffe, Cheetah, Zebra, Sable, Wild Dog, Leopard and much more!

Within the concession, evening game drives can be arranged with a sunset stopover for sundowners and your choice of beverage. Returning to the lodge by spotlight to find those elusive night animals and arriving back in camp in time to freshen up for dinner.

Walking Safari
After a fireside coffee and delicious muffins, journey into the bush on foot with your professional guide on a walking safari. Enjoy the early crisp mornings as you discover the wonders of the African bush and witness its wildlife come to life. Starting time is first light. Walking Safaris are carried out on our private concession of 6,000 acres and are weather dependent.

Painted Dog Conservation Centre
Zimbabwe boasts one of the largest populations of this endangered species. A visit to the Hwange Research Centre to learn more about these beautiful painted dogs and the rehabilitation, research and conservation efforts surrounding the centre is highly recommended. There is no entry fee charged but the program kindly asks visitors to either buy something from the curio shop with proceeds going to the program or welcomes any donations.
