Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
Perched on the crater rim, this eclectic lodge is a whimsical blend of Baroque, victorian decor and elegant African touches. Zebra graze on the lawn and the view stretches away over the Eden-like crater.
OVERVIEW
The Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is an institution, perched on the rim of the crater commanding the most spectacular views; the ancient passage of animals plays out below as it always has. The crater below is home to black rhino, some of the largest tusked elephant in Tanzania, prowling lion and beautiful pink flamingo that crowd the shore of the soda lake.
The rooms, as you would expect are luxurious and imaginative, offering every comfort, they delight with a quirky blend of banana-leaf roofs and crystal chandeliers. There are 30 suites divided into three separate camps, with an interconnected family unit. Children of all ages are welcome and there is an innovative WildChild programme that introduces children to the bush early, in the hope that they will grow up to love and help protect it.
Activities include game drives, walking safaris and more serious hiking as well as decadent bush banquets on the crater floor.
