Picture a thatched cottage alone in an acacia valley, the Omboroko Mountains behind it and a natural waterhole nearby. That is the Okonjima Private Bush Suite at , kept for one group of four at a time. Two en suite bedrooms share a soaring thatched roof, a chef designed kitchen, a log fireplace, and a 13 metre pool.
Canvas flaps roll away for 180 degree bush views, and indoor and outdoor showers look onto the bush. Beyond the door lies the 220 square kilometre reserve, home to three decades of leopard research, with leopard tracking, night drives, and tracking for pangolin, rhino, and brown hyena. Stay at least two days to give the reserve’s leopards a fair chance to appear.
