Paradise Lodge

Paradise Lodge Arbaminch is an award-winning eco-lodge set on a ridge overlooking Lake Chamo and Lake Abaya in Ethiopia's Great Rift Valley. The lodge features traditional Tukul-style huts and suites built with local materials, a restaurant serving organic, locally sourced cuisine, a swimming pool, and a spa. It is a popular base for exploring Nechisar National Park, the Crocodile Market, and Dorze Village, and is known for its stunning panoramic views and strong ties to the culture of southern Ethiopia.

Paradise Lodge Arbaminch is one of the most beautiful places to stay in southern Ethiopia. Set on a hill overlooking two of the Great Rift Valley’s most stunning lakes, this award-winning eco-lodge has welcomed guests since 2008. The lodge offers incredible views of Lake Chamo, Lake Abaya, the forests of Nechisar National Park, and the Amaro and Soyama mountain ranges. The name Arba Minch means “forty springs” in Amharic, a reference to the many natural springs found in the area. The peaceful surroundings are reflected throughout the lodge’s design.

The lodge offers a variety of accommodation, including single and twin bamboo cottages, family rooms, king suites, and a spacious two-storey Presidential Suite. The buildings are designed in the traditional Tukul style, inspired by the Konso and Gamo communities, and feature handcrafted furniture made from locally sourced Cordia Africana wood. Every room has a private veranda, and many enjoy beautiful views across the lakes. The Presidential Suite includes a twin bedroom on the ground floor and a master bedroom upstairs with a king-sized bed.

The Paradise Lodge Restaurant and Bar serves both Ethiopian and international dishes, using fresh local ingredients and fish from the nearby lakes. Guests can relax by the outdoor swimming pool, which has a swim-up bar and outdoor television, or enjoy a massage, sauna, steam room, or beauty treatments at the spa. Families can also make use of the children’s playground and daycare services. The terrace is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the panoramic views.

Paradise Lodge Arbaminch also celebrates the rich culture of southern Ethiopia. The lodge reflects the traditions of the region’s 56 ethnic groups and offers excursions that introduce guests to the area’s people, history, and natural beauty.

There is plenty to see and do nearby. Guests can explore Nechisar National Park, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo or Lake Abaya, and visit the famous Crocodile Market, which is home to some of Africa’s largest crocodiles. A visit to Dorze Village offers the chance to see the traditional beehive-shaped houses and learn about the Dorze people’s weaving traditions. The natural springs around Arba Minch are also well worth visiting. With its beautiful setting, comfortable accommodation, and easy access to some of southern Ethiopia’s top attractions, Paradise Lodge Arbaminch offers an unforgettable stay in the heart of the Great Rift Valley.
