Sossusvlei Lodge

Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is right by the entrance gate to the Namib-Naukluft Park in Western Namibia, with easy access to the spectacular, towering red sand dunes and large white salt pan of Sossusvlei - handy for photographers keen to capture that all-important early morning light.

The near-400 metre dunes at Sossusvelei are some of the highest in the world, and combined with the scorched black trees of Deadvlei and great depths of Sesriem Canyon, this year-round destination is arguably Namibia’s greatest natural spectacle and a must-see.

Sossusvlei Lodge accommodation is divided into 44 Superior Units, each with twin beds, spacious ensuite bathrooms and patios with desert views, six two room Standard Units for families, and one Junior Suite with a private terrace and small splash pool. The Junior Suite also has a lovely skylight over the freestanding bath for stargazing in the tub.

To wind down after day trips, there’s a sparkling pool, bar, sundowner deck, beer garden and an alfresco terrace serving up delicious food and award-winning wines with magnificent views of the floodlit waterhole.

The Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre can organise guided excursions in custom-built all-terrain vehicles to Deadvlei and Sossusvlei, returning to the Lodge for lunch, as well as any number of activities from Elim Dune walks to sundowner trips and quad buggy nature drives, or hot air ballooning and scenic flights to view it all from the air.
