Off the beaten track and deep in Maasai territory, Entamanu Ngorongoro offers a perfect vantage point over the crater. The simple tented accommodation is exquisitely and lovingly decorated with precious handcrafted Tanzanian art and artefacts. The authenticity and warmth of this small camp is tangible and guests immediately feel at home.

The sustainably built accommodation is in seven heated, tented rooms with ensuite bathrooms, all of which enjoy crater views. Families can be accommodated in two family units.

The perfect spot from which to set off on game drives, Entamanu Ngorongoro is well-located on the crater rim to enable a speedy descent to the crater floor, avoiding the later-day crowds. Highland walks along the crater rim are an excellent way to get close to nature; being at altitude the air is cool and crystal clear, perfect for a little exercise. It’s also possible to visit the village in the next valley, see cattle grazing in the conservation area and learn about pastoral life, hut building and warrior ceremonies.
