Rekero Camp
Witness the greatest wildlife concentration and diversity in the world in the heart of the Masai Mara in Kenya. Rekero is ideally situated overlooking the Talek River migration crossing point.
OVERVIEW
Accommodation at Rekero is in nine classic, spacious safari tents (with ensuite bathrooms), set in the shade of the trees overlooking the Talek River. Chill out on a daybed on your private veranda for a midday snooze or spy zebra ambling along the riverbank. A major draw is the annual wildebeest and zebra migration, and Rekero is situated just 150 metres from a crossing point on the Talek River, and a short drive from the Mara River. Outside of migration season, one of the highlights of staying in the Masai Mara is viewing the predators that prowl these plains. It’s no coincidence that many wildlife documentaries, including BBC’s Big Cat Diary and Disney’s African Cats, have been filmed here. There is a high concentration of lions, including the resident Rekero pride, plus cheetahs and leopards.
