Moremi Game Reserve
Enquire NowWhere the Okavango’s waterways, islands and wildlife come together in extraordinary harmony
Moremi Game Reserve lies in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, where palm-fringed islands, clear lagoons, winding channels, open floodplains, woodlands and grasslands create one of Africa’s most diverse wildlife landscapes.
The reserve supports an extraordinary range of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, tsessebes, kudus, waterbucks and the rare red lechwe. Moremi is also home to both black and white rhinoceros, while its waterways and floodplains attract an exceptional variety of birdlife.
Predators are equally well represented, with lions, leopards, cheetahs, African wild dogs and spotted hyenas roaming the reserve. Chief’s Island and the Mopane Tongue are particularly renowned for their concentrations of wildlife, where herds gather around the seasonal waters and predators follow close behind.
Moremi can be experienced in many ways, from 4×4 game drives across the floodplains to quiet mokoro journeys and boat safaris along the waterways. Guided walking experiences offer another perspective, bringing travellers closer to the smaller details of this remarkable wilderness.
