Mountain gorilla are descended from ancestral monkeys and apes found in Africa and Arabia during the start of the Oligocene epoch (34-24 million years ago). They have inspired many great researchers, including Captain Robert von Beringe, George Schaller, Dian Fossey and Jane Goodall.
Observing Mountain Gorilla in their natural habitat, seeing them interact and feed and understanding a little about their family bonds is truly inspiring. Watching this, you can begin to imagine how these researchers became utterly consumed by their work.
Following these family groups in the wild you will be struck by how strong and powerful, and yet how shy and gentle these animals are.
