Hiking
Explore Africa on foot, from Ethiopia’s rugged highlands to the mountains and coastlines of South Africa. Hiking offers a slower, more active way to experience the landscapes around you.
Hiking in Africa takes you beyond the usual safari routes and into the landscapes themselves. You might walk through Ethiopia’s highlands, explore mountain trails or follow coastal paths in South Africa.
Walking through a landscape allows you to notice details that can easily be missed from a vehicle. You can take in the changing scenery, feel the terrain beneath your feet and enjoy the peace and sounds of nature around you.
Hiking can also be a great way to add an active element to your trip. After a morning on the trails, you might return to camp for a traditional coffee ceremony in Ethiopia or relax with a spa treatment or round of golf in South Africa.
Hiking experiences vary by property, but can include:
- Guided hikes through Ethiopia’s highlands near Arba Minch and Lalibela
- Mountain and coastal walks in South Africa’s Western Cape
- Scenic hikes through varied landscapes and local countryside
- Hiking combined with golf and other outdoor activities
- Post-hike relaxation with a spa treatment or time at your lodge
Plan Your Hiking Safari
Whether you want to explore Ethiopia’s highlands or combine a coastal walk with golf and relaxation in South Africa, hiking adds an active and personal element to your African journey.
Nziza can include a hiking experience in your tailor-made itinerary, choosing trails and activities that match your interests and fitness level.
