Balloon Safari
There are few things more magical and humbling than floating silently across the vast African continent in a hot air balloon.
A balloon safari offers one of the most unforgettable ways to experience Africa’s iconic landscapes. As the sun rises, you’ll gently lift off and drift silently over vast savannahs, river valleys, forests, or wetlands, enjoying panoramic views that few travellers ever see.
Depending on your destination, you may float above the wildlife-rich plains of the Serengeti or Maasai Mara, the floodplains of the Okavango Delta, or the dramatic scenery surrounding Victoria Falls. From above, you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and even predators beginning their day, all while taking in the beauty of the African wilderness.
What it means to have a hot air balloon included in your itinerary
A balloon safari combines adventure, tranquillity, and spectacular scenery in a truly unique experience. The peaceful flight offers exceptional opportunities for photography and a fresh perspective on Africa’s diverse landscapes and wildlife.
Many of Nziza Hospitality’s luxury safari itineraries include balloon safaris as a special highlight, often ending with a gourmet bush breakfast or sparkling wine in a scenic location, making the morning even more memorable.
Things to experience while on a Balloon Safari
Each flight is unique, but your experience may include:
- A sunrise hot air balloon flight over spectacular landscapes
- Incredible aerial views of wildlife in their natural habitat
- Professional commentary from your experienced pilot
- Outstanding opportunities for photography
- A champagne or sparkling wine celebration after landing
- A delicious bush breakfast in the heart of the wilderness
Plan Your Visit
A balloon safari is the perfect addition to a luxury African adventure, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, travelling as a couple, or simply looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Combined with game drives and luxury lodge stays, it offers an unforgettable way to appreciate the beauty, scale, and serenity of Africa’s wild places.
