Chobe National Park
Enquire NowNamed after the famous, deep blue Chobe River that winds its way through the Park and serves and protects a diverse wildlife population, Chobe National Park is one of Africa’s truly unspoilt safari destinations. Chobe is known as the elephant capital of the world and unsurprisingly, home to the world’s largest elephant.
Chobe National Park was the first of Botswana’s world famous parks and is also the most biologically diverse, perhaps in large part due to the famous, lush waterways.
Located in the north of the country, and intersected by the beautiful meandering Chobe River, Chobe National Park is Botswana’s third largest park, after Central Kalahari Game Reserve and Gemsbok National Park. It has one of the greatest concentrations of game in all of Africa and over 450 species of birds, most of which are native to the area.
Besides game drives, Chobe offers river safaris on beautiful houseboats. River cruises are best in Botswana’s dry season, from April to October, when you can expect to see huge herds of elephant, buffalo and antelope, as well as many predators, from lions and crocodiles, to wild dog, cheetah, leopard and spotted hyena.
