Ethiopia is home to the historical sites of Axum and Labilela, human fossils aged over 3.2 million years, the monasteries of Lake Tana, the tradition lifestyle of the tribes in the Omo valley such as the Nuer, Mursi, Karo and Hamer, the highlands of Simien and Bale Mountains.

Ethiopia is one of Africa’s most compelling and culturally rich destinations, a land of ancient kingdoms, dramatic highlands and otherworldly landscapes. From the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela and the castles of Gondar to the vast Simien Mountains and the remote Omo Valley, Ethiopia offers a journey unlike anywhere else on the continent.

In the north lie the historical treasures of Axum and Lalibela, UNESCO World Heritage Sites that reveal the depth of Ethiopia’s ancient Christian heritage. The Simien Mountains rise in jagged splendour, home to endemic wildlife including gelada baboons and Walia ibex, offering some of Africa’s most spectacular trekking scenery.

To the south, the Omo Valley presents a fascinating cultural mosaic, where diverse tribal communities maintain traditions passed down through generations. In the east, the surreal landscapes of the Danakil Depression — one of the hottest places on earth — showcase salt flats, lava lakes and vivid mineral springs.
