Enquire Now

Tuli Block is a cluster of private game reserves in southern Botswana on the South African border, nicknamed “The Land of Giants” for its striking kopjes and giant baobabs. It holds Africa’s largest privately-owned elephant herds, rich Stone and Iron Age history near Mapungubwe, and great predator sightings. Its private status allows varied activities like bush walks, cycling, and horseback safaris alongside game drives.

Tuli is one of southern Africa’s best kept secrets. Often called “The land of Giants” , everything seems bigger there from the rugged peaks of the kopjes to the giant baobab trees. It is a photographer’s and geologist’s dream.

The Tuli Block has several cattle and wildlife ranches in southern Botswana along the border with South Africa which have been turned into private game reserves and conservation areas. Tuli boasts the largest herds of Elephants on privately owned land in Africa.

Tuli is also fascinating from a historical perspective. Tourists see the remains from Iron and Stone Ages, as well as see conections with the nearby Mapungubwe World Heritage Site in South Africa. Visitors can set out on game drives in search of wildlife including predators like Leopards and Cheetahs and increasingly excellent Lion sightings. Many lodges have bunkers and hides at waterholes which make this an exceptional destination for photographic safaris.

As they are all private game reserves, visitors have freedom on their safari to enjoy a wide range of activities which allow them to get close to nature. Examples include bush walks, cycling or horseback safari. Sleeping out in makeshift fly camps under the stars give a real sense of connection with Africa. The reserve is also famous for its annual fundraising cycle tour through the reserve called Tour de Tuli.
