Walking Safari
Walking safaris are the perfect way to move the body after all the incredible food you will be spoilt with on safari. Stretching your legs and observing the minute detail of the bush brings you closer to nature and awakens the senses.
Many lodges in private concessions offer walking safaris (several National Parks have a no walking policy), always accompanied by a guide, with the walk tailored to your interests and fitness level. Your guide will show you flowers, insects, seed pods and spoor. The smell of the dry grasses and wild herbs and the sounds of birds and insects is intoxicating – a hit on all the senses. You may also experience some incredible close encounters with rare animals.
All of our walking guides are experts and will open your eyes to another layer of intrigue that is easily overlooked from a safari vehicle. Walking safaris are an opportunity to connect with nature on a much deeper level, to slow down, ground and tune into the bush, and can very often leave you with a fresh perspective on life.
